School mental wellness: Tips for parents and caretakers of teenagers

After relaxing vacation days, the school time is full of stress and anxiety for both parents and teens. The new school year is full of excitement, anxiety and anticipation which bring out new faces, homework and schedules. But out of these things, the best thing is that there are some school mental wellness simple tips to use and make school routine easy.

Make good habits of sleeping: Reinforce your kids about the significance and benefits of sleeping. A proper sleep doesn’t only beneficial for grades and staying alert, but also it prevents depression and other mental issues.

Bond and communicate with them: At the end of each school day, always try to be available with your teens either in person or by phone. Even if you are getting their complaints, be persistent. Walk or drive home together and plan surprise dinner for them. All these activities of you make them bond and communicate with you easily.

Stay connected: As the children grow, they stop sharing many things with caretakers and parents. But it doesn’t mean that you cannot interfere anymore about what they are feeling. Just encourage them with positive texts and notes in their bags. It helps them to reduce anxiety and stress. Take time to listen to them and discuss about what is happening in their class.
